Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Science and Systems Program

The Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology (EIT) at UALR offers a graduate program leading to a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science and Systems (ENSS). The program is designed to provide a collaborative, interdisciplinary framework of graduate studies and research in engineering with exposure to the systems approach that is increasingly the hallmark of current research and development in the global engineering community. Students enrolling in the Engineering Science and Systems Ph.D. program can select one of the four available tracks for their graduate studies, as follows:

  • Systems Engineering
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Telecommunications and Networking Engineering
  • Mechanical and Materials Engineering

Graduate Coordinator: Dr. Hussain Al-Rizzo (hmalrizzo@ualr.edu)

Doctor of Philosophy in Computer and Information Sciences

The Computer and Information Sciences Ph.D. program is designed to promote strong multidisciplinary collaborations across several computing disciplines whose bodies of knowledge influence and intertwine with each other. Our program offers three emphasis areas:

  • Computer science
  • Information science
  • Information quality

Each of which is supported by faculty, curriculum, and other resources from the departments of computer science, information science, and systems engineering. The Information Science and Information Quality Tracks are also available online. Our graduates are prepared to thrive in diverse computing- and knowledge-based industries as well as in research and education at academic, industry, and federal agencies.

Program Chair: Dr. John R. Talburt (jrtalburt@ualr.edu)
